Refresh Delay in Seconds

Above is highlighted the section of the Control Bar that relates to the the image Refresh Delay:

The Refresh Delay control is used in conjunction with the play and reverse control buttons, and Time Increment. And is only available for Minutely JPEG images. The default setting when the user arrives at the AntCam is 60 second Delays which in conjunction to having the Time Increment set to 1 minute, and Play selected will Refresh AntCam JPEG images every 60 seconds. These default settings produce the classic AntCam which updates every minute showing the newly captured Minutely JPEG image.

Things to note:

  • Refresh Delay is only available when Playing Forward or Backward! Stepping, Stopping or setting MPEG movies disables this feature (the Arrow will dissappear).
  • 1 image per 5 seconds ~ 12KB/sec = 96Kbaud (you need Dual ISDN or faster connection for this)
  • 1 image per 60 seconds ~ 1KB/sec = 8Kbaud should work on 14.4Kb connection
  • In conjunction with Time Increment allows one to easily scan through the 200,000+ image archive spanning dates from 1998.6.8 through Now.
